Adolescent MISA Unit Mental Illness and Substance Abuse Treatment
The MISA Unit specializes in the therapeutic treatment and management of dually diagnosed adolescents, offering 24 hour nursing care with an interdisciplinary treatment team approach. The program provides individualized, comprehensive and holistic treatment that promotes the healing of mind, body and spirit.
The MISA Unit is an intensive, individualized hospital program for the treatment of mental illness and substance abuse. Participants will attend various therapeutic groups. These will include educational lectures, treatment videos, interactive group therapy, life skills training, art and music therapy, anger management skills, coping skills, grief and loss, and decision making skills. Participants will also take part in individual and family sessions. The treatment team consists of Physicians, nurses, case managers, recreational therapists and dieticians.
